Where you are now:Republic of Ireland

I was looking at your site and came across 3 stories one was from Ben Glasgow.  I used to like watching Ben making horse shoes and iron gates.  I started my time with Jimmy Dixon who had his yard at the back of Ben`s blacksmith shop.

The second and third stories are from Eric Kerr and David Ronald.  I used to lived at No 96 Duke Street; third floor under old John who sadly died just after we moved to Gilmerton.  As kids we ran all his messages for him.

My parents were Alex and Emily Smith, sadly both gone now.

I went to St Marys, Yardheads from 1955 to 1960. Loved the smell from the old crisp factory Smiths I think; playing in the back green (shouting up for a piece and trying to catch it before it hit the ground). Don`t think i ever missed.  I will be back to this site regularly.
