Dear Fellow Leithers and ex Leithers
It gives me great pleasure in saying that the feature `Icons` has been the most successful one on line since the site began in 2001.
It has been supported by you in the contributions of your memories to such an extent that it is now perpetuated in book form.
Further Copies are now to hand.
The book is A5, perfect bound and contains 250 pages of your tales and photographs of Leith.
It also features the Gretna Disaster; ode to it; list of the fatalities and home addresses of them.
It should be explained that the details of the 7th Battalion, Leith, Royal Scots were lost in the tragedy but were traced to to a certain degree after the time from Newspaper records. Hence the variance in regimental numbers and name, i.e., McDiarmid , McDermot or Stuart or Stewart.
Gosh, I wish I knew what my grandparents, aye, even my parents got up to when they were children and adolescents. Don’t let your descendants wish the same.
