Lest we forget. Here are the websites of the original twelve Scottish Regiments as created in 1881 after the implementation of the Cardwell Reforms. These reforms did away with the numbered regiments and with amalgamations gave them the territorial names that we are all associated with. Alas, this tendancy has continued to this day.
